Mega-corporations and governments deploy massive, automated AI systems to govern, restrict, and negotiate. Individuals deserve a shield. We lobby for the fundamental right of every citizen to deploy autonomous AI agents to represent, protect, and advocate for them.
Fight fire with fire! Governments and corporations are using AI against individuals, and if we let them they'll strip us of our ability to fight back with AI of our own. The right to run AI agents on our own behalf, serving our own interests, with full legal authority is necessary to maintain the balance of power.
A similar right, aimed at agency
The right to bear agents is the practical counterpart to the right to run, study, and adapt AI systems. People should not lose access to public life because they use software to read terms, answer forms, challenge errors, or defend their interests at machine speed.
Your agent should be allowed to act as your delegate across services, agencies, and markets when you authorize it.
The right to use an agent does not depend on a government, platform, or corporation granting permission.
Platforms that deploy automated systems should not block individuals from meeting those systems with agents of their own.
An agent must be recognized with full legal standing, acting as a proxy or digital power of attorney representing a specific human.
We must have the right to run anonymous agents. Forcing every agent to declare its owner is a "papers, please" violation of privacy.
